SCHOOL DISTRICT GOALS 2005-2006

1. MWUSD WILL IMPROVE ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT FOR ALL STUDENTS.

Our students will read, write, and master mathematical concepts at grade levels as defined by district/state standards. The district's target is to increase achievement for all students and reduce the achievement gap between students whose primary language is not English or whose social economic status is defined at the poverty level.

2. MWUSD WILL REMAIN FISCALLY SOUND.

The district will maintain a balanced budget, continue to educate staff and parents about school funding and explore methods to increase revenue to the district and educate staff and the public

3. MWUSD WILL WISELY INVEST IN OUR SCHOOL FACILITIES.

The district will complete the improvements of our elementary schools by successfully implementing our facilities bond. The Board has adopted a calendar and budget to execute the specific projects in the bond measure to have safe and up-to-date school facilities.

4. MWUSD STAFF WILL WORK SYSTEMATICALLY TO INCREASE STUDENT DAILY ATTENDANCE AND PROMOTE OUR SCHOOLS AND THE DISTRICT.

Our goal is to have students attend school everyday unless absent due to illness/medical or family emergency. The district will continue to promote its schools through the website, newspaper, presentations and other publications.
